About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and development of LIMS modules, integrations, and custom features
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Ensure coding standards, best practices, and security protocols are followed
Develop and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and system interfaces
Integrate LIMS with laboratory instruments and enterprise systems
Oversee data migration, transformation, and quality assurance processes
Mentor and guide junior developers and technical staff
Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, laboratory stakeholders, IT, and external vendors
Provide technical input on architecture, design, and long-term system improvements
Develop and execute unit and integration tests
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues
Support user acceptance testing and provide third-level support for escalated incidents
Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, workflows, and release notes
Ensure systems and processes meet audit, regulatory, and data integrity standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of experience in software development
Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or similar programming languages
Proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, or similar database technologies
Experience with LIMS development, configuration, or similar laboratory/ERP systems strongly preferred
Understanding of system integration, APIs, and data management
Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and manage multiple priorities
Availability for occasional travel (3–4 weeks per year)
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
Ability to lift or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 7.5 hours per day
Ability to communicate via telephone and e-mail without assistance
Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks such as data entry
Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country applied for, or hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa
