Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Alston Construction’s national internal and external strategic communications, brand positioning, and multi-channel engagement
Lead crisis and incident communications for jobsite accidents, injuries, deaths, and protest activity
Coordinate official statements with Safety, Legal, and project leadership
Monitor news and social media coverage and prepare proactive responses
Manage website and social media messaging
Manage external media and press relations/PR, including relationship building, advertising, and writing or reviewing press releases, articles, and award submissions
Serve as company spokesperson or prepare designated spokespeople for interviews, conference panels, and public appearances
Handle public and community outreach, including city town halls
Support HR with trade show and recruiting events
Run employee newsletters, intranet content, and C-suite companywide messaging
Support preparation for All-Hands calls and annual Management Meetings
Develop and lead staff training on media engagement, protest response, and acceptable social media use
Perform other related duties

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including crisis communications and media relations
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Demonstrated experience serving as, or preparing, an organizational spokesperson for media interviews and public appearances
Construction or other regulated/industrial sector experience preferred
