About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support annual operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning processes with business and operational leaders
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year
Build and maintain financial models for business cases and scenario planning
Partner with Accounting on month-end close and reconciliation of financial results
Partner with department leaders to understand business needs, evaluate financial performance, and identify operational improvement opportunities
Incorporate industry-specific metrics into reports to highlight trends and support fact-based decisions
Streamline, standardize, and automate financial reporting and forecasting processes
Support ad hoc analysis and presentations for executive leadership and the Board
Serve as a trusted financial partner to operational and business leaders, providing insights for strategic planning and decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or economics from an accredited program
3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, financial planning and analysis, or a related finance role
Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably within a health plan, managed care organization, or medical group
Experience with cost allocations, cost accounting, expense distribution methodologies, or departmental cost analysis
Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Experience analyzing financial performance, investigating variances, and communicating results to business leaders
Proven experience using databases, Word and Access, PowerPoint required
Expert in Microsoft Excel
Rudimentary understanding of databases and different data architecture
5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, financial planning and analysis, or a related finance role (preferred)
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning (preferred)
Experience supporting executive level financial reporting and presentations (preferred)
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen
