About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain web applications using React, TypeScript, and TanStack Start
Own assigned projects and initiatives throughout planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and delivery
Develop and maintain APIs using tRPC and REST
Support application deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance
Build, maintain, and scale backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
Collaborate with developers to integrate front-end and back-end systems
Document technical specifications, APIs, UI designs, and database designs
Improve development processes and best practices
Write and maintain automated tests
Participate in code reviews
Troubleshoot application reliability, performance, and security issues
Communicate progress, technical decisions, and blockers
Collaborate with the Los Angeles team during Romanian evening hours

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in complex backend application development with Node.js and TypeScript
Experience with NestJS, Nitro, TanStack Start, Next.js, Express, or comparable frameworks is a strong plus
2+ years of experience developing REST APIs
Experience with tRPC is highly preferred but not required
3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and ORMs
2+ years of frontend development experience using React and TypeScript, including single-page applications in React or Vue
1 year of experience working with Linux
Working knowledge of Docker
2+ years of experience with Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, or similar CSS frameworks
Strong understanding of Continuous Integration / Deployment
Experience writing unit, integration, and browser tests
Solid experience with Git workflows, including branching, merging, and tagging
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
Ability to work independently, follow assigned work through delivery, and handle routine deployments and production troubleshooting
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
Availability for 40 hours per week, including mandatory availability from 18:00–22:00 Romanian time
Must be based in Romania
Must work through an SRL or PFA
Monitask required to track hours worked
Skills with TypeScript, React, NestJS, Next.js, Nitro, Prisma, PostgreSQL or MySQL, Linux, Docker, NPM, Vite, and Swagger
