About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as an ambassador for new and existing members of Alterna
- Assess members’ overall needs at every contact
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling
- Provide education, advice, products, and services to mass-market members
- Refer members with complex needs to appropriate branch partners or Senior Bankers
- Maintain a cash drawer and provide related member service
- Contribute to the team’s sales plan through financial-needs assessment and product/service solutions
- Promote, up-sell, and deliver banking products and services
- Meet sales targets and satisfy members’ primary needs
- Execute transaction posting, cash management, balancing, administrative, security, and risk-management procedures accurately
- Identify and refer high-value or high-potential members
- Support member growth and retention and overall branch goals
- Participate in branch meetings, huddles, sales initiatives, and campaigns
- Handle walk-in traffic and member-initiated contacts
- Maintain current knowledge of products, services, and procedural changes
- Use sales and service tools to support member interactions
- Create and complete a personal development plan
- Participate in weekly goal-setting meetings and coaching sessions
- Participate in community initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post secondary education
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales industry or equivalent experience
- Proven sales experience
- Financial Services Industry experience an asset
- Experience in providing credit solutions an asset
- Knowledge of investments and loans; basic knowledge of mortgages
- Working knowledge of basic sales skills for opportunity spotting and uncovering needs
- Sound knowledge of computer applications such as Excel and Word
- Good problem-solving skills to identify, analyze and resolve basic member issues/problems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with anti-money laundering and other regulatory guidelines
