About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide timely and professional support to clients and patients
  • Resolve billing issues using critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Retrieve and respond to inbound requests or direct them to the appropriate party
  • Communicate with patients by phone, email, chat, or text to support billing for testing
  • Document client, patient, and payor interactions in Ambry systems
  • Review, identify, and process documents
  • Answer questions about Ambry products and processes using available resources
  • Assist with patient and client inquiries and provide one-touch resolution when possible
  • Organize and attach documents to corresponding cases
  • Communicate directly with clients in real time
  • Coordinate with internal departments
  • Apply preliminary billing and insurance knowledge
  • Communicate knowledge of Ambry products and systems to internal teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of experience in billing support
  • High school degree or higher
  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD10 codes, medical terminology, insurance plans and processes
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to accomplish workload and additional projects with no supervision
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize work
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment, office software and internet
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, and internet usage
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, Ambry requisitions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and in group settings with clients and employees
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions
  • Previous experience in health care or clinical laboratory administration preferred
  • Previous patient-facing customer service experience in a health or wellness setting preferred
  • Previous experience in insurance billing, including insurance verification, authorization, or collections
  • No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
