Director, Outcomes Research Data Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support business development efforts for the Outcomes Research team by identifying, cultivating, and securing partnerships with Pharma, biotech, and other life science organizations
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Tempus’ real-world data and analytic solutions across Medical Affairs, HEOR, Epidemiology, Commercial, and RWE teams
- Partner with clients to understand scientific, clinical, and commercial objectives and translate needs into Tempus RWE study proposals and data solutions
- Collaborate with scientific leads to scope protocols, methodological approaches, and analytic deliverables
- Present Tempus capabilities, RWE insights, and strategic recommendations to Pharma epidemiologists, HEOR leaders, and medical liaisons
- Work with Tempus Key Account Directors to identify opportunities and build proposals for life science customers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Outcomes Research, Data Product, Clinical Abstraction, and Data Science teams to shape data assets, analytical features, and offerings
- Advocate for customer needs in roadmap discussions and provide market intelligence on RWE, oncology, and evidence generation trends
- Support forecasting, reporting, and business operations processes
- Stay current on methodological advancements in RWE, oncology guidelines, and clinical trials
- Maintain working knowledge of claims, EHR, and registry data sources and their use in retrospective observational research and clinical development
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of consulting or partnership experience in life sciences, real-world evidence, HEOR, medical affairs, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to educate on or position data-driven solutions, RWE offerings, or analytics-based services to Pharma and biotech partners
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets, building long-term client relationships, and managing complex enterprise accounts
- Familiarity with oncology research, oncology clinical trials, and use of RWE in evidence generation
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
- Experience partnering with scientific teams to shape study designs, protocols, or analytics that meet client needs
- Understanding of RWE endpoints, oncology disease landscapes, and retrospective study methodologies
- Experience working with hematologic malignancy datasets or disease-specific outcomes
- Ability to present scientific or technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to operate within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with integrity and passion for advancing precision medicine
