About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base
  • Hire, develop, and maintain top talent at the Account Executive and Area Director levels
  • Create and implement effective sales strategies for the team
  • Lead through effective communication of vision, active coaching, and development
  • Compare sales results with goals and take corrective action when necessary
  • Provide supervision through field visits and observations
  • Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders from other departments
  • Own and close accounts
  • Expand menu utilization in existing accounts
  • Negotiate and manage contracts
  • Develop and deliver presentations
  • Host and assist with trade shows
  • Manage customer data in the company CRM
  • Help develop and lead company initiatives
  • Increase laboratory sales revenue and profitability through market penetration and promotion of Ambry's genetic diagnostic testing services and technology offerings
  • Advocate the clinical and financial benefits of products to physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, laboratory staff, hospitals, specialty clinics, and physician offices
  • Manage complex customer relationships and drive complex sales to closure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in laboratory services supporting clinicians and hospitals, or equivalent internal leadership experience within the organization
  • Strong track record building and leading teams of sales leadership and sales representatives
  • Ability to sell technically complex products
  • Expertise with demand creation in a large geography
  • Strengths in networking and relationship development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com
  • Open to and enjoy national travel (50%+ travel)
