About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build subject matter expertise to develop and tailor messaging for the Division of Practice Advancement and other assigned business areas
- Lead content plan development and promotional strategies that drive engagement
- Continuously improve AAFP content through audits, measurement, optimization and process improvements
- Collaborate with editors, writers, designers and marketers to produce and distribute content across the website, social media, email marketing and podcast channels
- Routinely audit content and identify areas for improvement
- Build editorial schedules, ensure deliverables are met, measure effectiveness, and share insights and best practices
- Develop high-quality resources, education and connection to deliver member value
- Help drive organizational revenue through member value and retention
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in communications, marketing, English, or related area
- Minimum of four years of related work experience in content creation, digital marketing or editorial management
- Proficiency in AP style and application of brand standards in communications work
- Demonstrated success working with editorial plans and content strategy frameworks
- Basic aptitude with current web analytics tools such as Google Data Studio and Semrush
- Preferred: Publishing experience in digital channels
- Preferred: Understanding of information architecture, componentized content management systems and syndication
- Preferred: Understanding of SEO best practices
- Preferred: Knowledge of GEO/AEO best practices
