About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Steward large, cross-functional development and systems integration projects for ABS Professional Services
  • Provide assistance in technical design and code development projects
  • Work with Project Managers to direct project teams in delivering high-quality products within committed timeframes
  • Oversee Technical Team members’ adherence to defined SDLC processes
  • Monitor project progress and construct risk assessment and mitigation plans for unplanned delivery issues
  • Work with Project Managers to construct management communications as needed
  • Mentor and guide Technical Leads in requirements analysis, feature scoping, and backlog scheduling through final delivery
  • Work with Project Managers and Technical Leads to estimate efforts, resource requirements, risks, and constraints
  • Define code drop schedules and coordinate code drop dependencies
  • Manage and lead architects, technical team leaders, and product developers
  • Consult on technical designs, systems development, and build/release delivery
  • Report to a Manager, Director, or Executive-level position

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BA degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2–4 years of experience managing onshore/offshore development teams
  • 2–4 years of experience delivering commercial applications
  • Conversant with release engineering, build and multi-releases
  • 3–5 years of experience in application development as an execution project manager
  • Proven experience building project plans and artifacts for complex software development activities
  • Skills and knowledge in Project Management, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design
  • Track record of completing quality projects on time
  • Proven track record in coaching and mentoring others
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans
  • Expert problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism
  • Knowledge of employment law related to recruiting and staffing (nice to have)
  • Exposure to recruiting metrics including Time to Fill, Time to Hire, and Days Open (nice to have)
  • Experience with government hiring requirements including ITAR and security clearances (nice to have)
