About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a strong academic presence and pursue growth in teaching, scholarly or creative works, service to the profession, and service to the college
- Report and work under the leadership of the department chair
- Interact directly with students professionally
- Facilitate a safe and productive online learning environment
- Respond to student requests and contact inactive students as needed
- Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality delivery
- Enhance course content with personal experience, insights, and professional knowledge
- Monitor assignments and provide student feedback according to college policies
- Synthesize and report student performance data
- Support program and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Promote ethical conduct, including plagiarism and copyright compliance
- Direct students to supplemental resources
- Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending required meetings
- Promote the college's vision, mission, and culture
- Provide leadership within one's sphere of influence
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, seminars, publications, networks, and professional societies
- Maintain knowledge of emerging departmental issues and trends
- Support and promote research to ensure program and course quality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Earned a terminal degree
- Experience in Leadership, Higher Education, Research or Community College
- 1+ year experience in teaching and leadership in a formal educational setting
- Experience using both traditional and non-traditional teaching formats
- Higher education teaching experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing online/virtual professional relationships
- Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field
- Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with department personnel
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Must support and embrace the College's Impact mission
- Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
- Candidates cannot reside in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, or Alabama
