About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a strong academic presence and pursue professional development in teaching, scholarly or creative works, and service
- Report and work directly under the department chair's leadership
- Interact directly with students in an appropriate, professional manner
- Facilitate a safe and productive online learning environment
- Respond promptly to student requests and contact inactive students as needed
- Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality delivery
- Enhance course content with personal experience, insights, and professional knowledge
- Monitor assignments and provide appropriate student feedback
- Synthesize and report student performance data
- Support program and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Aid student learning of ethical conduct related to plagiarism and copyright infringement
- Direct students to supplemental resources
- Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending required meetings
- Promote the college's vision, mission, and culture
- Provide leadership within one's sphere of influence
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, seminars, publications, networks, and professional societies
- Maintain knowledge of emerging departmental issues and trends
- Support and promote research to ensure program and course quality
- Communicate with students and ACE employees in real time using online and electronic media
Requirements
What you’ll need- Earned terminal degree(s) in a field associated with the department
- Active Principal or Superintendent License
- K12 principal experience and current principal license
- 1+ year of experience in teaching and leadership in a formal educational setting
- Experience using traditional and non-traditional teaching formats
- Higher education teaching experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing online/virtual professional relationships
- Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field
- Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with department personnel
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Minimum 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload internet speeds at the remote work location
- Must support and embrace the College's Impact mission
