About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a strong academic presence and professional development in teaching, scholarly or creative works, and service
- Report and work directly under the department chair's leadership
- Interact directly with students professionally
- Facilitate a safe and productive learning environment
- Respond to student requests and contact inactive students as needed
- Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality delivery
- Personalize course content with professional experience and insights
- Monitor assignments and provide student feedback within college policies
- Synthesize and report student performance data
- Support program and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Aid student learning of ethical conduct, including plagiarism and copyright procedures
- Direct students to supplemental resources
- Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending required meetings
- Promote the college's vision, mission, and culture
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of curricula and industry
- Participate in educational workshops and seminars, review professional publications, establish networks, and participate in professional societies
- Maintain knowledge of emerging departmental issues and trends
- Support and promote research to ensure quality program and course offerings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Earned a terminal degree and experience in Leadership, Higher Education, Research or Community College
- 1+ year experience in teaching and leadership in a formal educational setting using both traditional and non-traditional teaching formats
- Higher education teaching experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing online/virtual professional relationships
- Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with department personnel
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Must support and embrace the College's Impact mission
- Minimum internet bandwidth of 50Mbps download and 5Mbps upload
- Candidates cannot reside in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, or Alabama
