About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and execute sponsorship and exhibit-space sales for ACA’s annual conference and virtual events
  • Build relationships with new and existing sponsors and demonstrate sponsorship value through success metrics
  • Manage print and digital advertising sales, including coordination of purchased member mailing lists
  • Identify potential customers, generate leads, convert prospects, and upsell client relationships
  • Drive revenue growth and achieve sales, revenue, business development, and performance targets
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and expansion
  • Monitor sales performance, provide forecasts, and report performance to leadership
  • Manage on-site exhibits and sponsorship functions at the ACA conference
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to prepare sales materials and presentations
  • Analyze market conditions and monitor competitors and industry pricing
  • Evaluate advertising and sponsorship opportunities and develop competitive offerings
  • Produce sponsorship fulfillment reports demonstrating return on investment
  • Collaborate with staff to align sales goals with ACA capabilities and develop partner value propositions
  • Manage sales pipelines, contracts, fulfillment reports, and financial/budget administration
  • Monitor financial performance and report to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least four years of sales experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales manager or similar role
  • Broad knowledge of and experience in sales, events, and client relations
  • Strong sales, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Experience creating new sales leads and relationships
  • Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and report statistics and other data
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational, and computer skills
  • Experience working with association management, membership, or customer relationship systems preferred
  • Administrative project management skills to coordinate people, materials, and budgets
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Must demonstrate respect for ACA’s diverse constituencies and membership
