About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop innovative pricing constructs, build business cases and generate ideas to differentiate AXP’s value while considering impact to P&L and the external environment
- Partner with the Partner Management Organization to develop pricing strategies and influence negotiation strategies
- Support analytics for pricing strategies, partner negotiations, and overall TPP growth strategies
- Drive implementation, maintenance and reporting of pricing programs and strategies
- Deliver thought leadership and subject matter expertise for Small Merchant pricing programs such as OptBlue
- Collaborate with internal partners across Pricing, Business Development, Analytics, and Finance to drive growth for clients
- Partner across the enterprise to strengthen risk management and streamline internal processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience in analytics, financial modeling and problem-solving; SQL or SAS is a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and exhibit attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience as a self-starter who can work both collaboratively and autonomously
- Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated professionalism and experience interacting with business partners and senior leaders
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in gaining merchant and partnership experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
