About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to defining and executing product strategy for products and services delivering differentiated value and seamless experiences
- Enable customers to expand into new markets and programs
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and delivery teams
- Define trackable success metrics and measure product performance post-launch
- Support analytics-driven decision-making and inform future investments
- Conduct discovery to identify market opportunities and user needs
- Document clear, actionable requirements for product development
- Shape and refine product priorities and maintain product roadmaps
- Manage a feature backlog aligned to business and customer outcomes
- Gather and analyze feedback from internal and external customers and partners
- Create user journeys and identify opportunities to remove obsolete or redundant payment experiences
- Suggest enhancements to improve user experience
- Partner with Acquiring Delivery Capability and Envisioning teams to guide design, validation, and execution of innovative acquiring solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Background in end-to-end Product Management and an understanding of the payments industry, preferably including merchant acquiring
- 1-3 years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development preferred
- Strong balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
- Ability to influence stakeholders, drive innovation, and deliver business metrics with a customer-first mindset
- Creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguous or undefined problems
- Ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into clear product strategy and opportunities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data
- Strong program and project management aptitude
- Understanding of Agile methodology and practices preferred
- Ability to balance multiple deliverables using prioritization and multitasking
- Flexibility and readiness to work within a global team
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or Marketing highly preferred
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship
