About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support consumer and commercial customers of American Express National Bank
- Provide personalized customer service while ensuring accounts are handled accurately within service-level agreements and regulatory guidelines
- Handle inbound and outbound calls on accounts
- Maintain professional working relationships among American Express, customers, and external banks
- Gather and analyze critical data to determine appropriate actions
- Process daily non-fraud disputes for banking products, including Regulation E disputes and other monetary or servicing requests
- Perform due diligence before resolving and moving monetary transactions
- Review and document banking processes and ensure dispute cases are accurate, timely, and procedurally compliant
- Make decisions and recommendations in unclear circumstances
- Communicate case details, risk considerations, and recommended actions to customers, leadership, counsel, audit, and oversight partners
- Maintain quality and compliance metrics, accuracy, and efficiency
- Partner with leadership on projects, data validation, and exam management efforts
- Take on additional Operations responsibilities to support business initiatives, career development, and team engagement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working knowledge of Regulation E dispute handling, including timelines, provisional credit, customer notices, and documentation requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in Operations or Banking Disputes
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks effectively
- Strong computer literacy and working knowledge of current internet technology
- Ability to research information for business-related purposes
- Proficiency with required business interfaces
- Proven adaptability to a quickly changing environment
- Drive to continually improve personal performance, customer satisfaction, operational goals, and business brand
- Team-oriented with a collaborative attitude and approach
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available
- Must work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week based on predetermined scheduling
- Availability during hours of operation from 7:00am–7:00pm MST
