About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver extraordinary service on a high volume of inbound calls in a fast-paced, structured customer care environment
- Consult with Card Members to understand their needs and tailor unique, personal solutions
- Reinforce the benefits of card membership and acknowledge Card Member tenure
- Recommend relevant product offers and benefit enrollments to deepen customer engagement and loyalty
- Develop selling skills to strengthen customer relationships and deepen loyalty to the American Express brand
- Address general and account-specific inquiries, including statements, card replacement, payments, and rewards redemption
- Update customer account information
- Use tools and resources to identify custom solutions and anticipate customer needs
- Maintain first-point-of-contact resolution
- Meet and exceed sales, quality, compliance, productivity, and customer performance goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong written and communication skills to converse effectively and naturally with Card Members
- Resilience to manage a steady stream of customer calls while balancing performance metrics and remaining positive through change and stressful situations
- Ability to show humility and care through emotional acknowledgement of customer queries and situations
- Technical savvy to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously, with speed and accuracy
- Integrity to manage sensitive Card Member information and adhere to Regulatory and Compliance guidelines related to servicing and sales practices
- Timeliness and reliability
- Customer service and consultative sales environment experience preferred
- Passion for consultative sales and recommending products or solutions tailored to each customer
- Ability to adapt communication style to a wide variety of personalities and situations and take ownership of each call
- Flexibility to work anytime between 6:00 am–12:00 am, including weekends
- Hybrid environment with on-site expectation 3 days/week
