Deliver extraordinary service on inbound and/or outbound customer calls to review and monitor accounts
Consult with Card Members about card usage and set expectations for possible credit concerns
Analyze customer profiles and make risk-based decisions to identify root causes
Use negotiation skills to execute agreed solutions
Build human connections with customers through care and empathy
Understand customer needs, handle objections, and provide tailored solutions
Maintain integrity when handling customer information and meet compliance requirements
Meet and exceed goals for customer satisfaction, consultation, call handling time, schedule adherence, and compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school graduate
Computer literate, able to navigate through multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously, with speed and accuracy
Active listening skills and ability to adapt conversation to suit the situation and the Card Member’s communication style
Resilience to manage a steady stream of diverse customer calls while balancing performance metrics
Consultative support skills, recommending products or solutions tailored to each Card Member
Problem-solving ability to evaluate Card Member issues and offer solutions, with a focus on first-contact resolution
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills, with strong attention to detail and assertiveness
Capacity to learn, willingness to try new things, incorporate feedback, and adapt through change and difficult situations
Flexibility to work anytime between 8:00am and 12:00am (midnight), including weekends
Flexibility to work shifts provided during the training period
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be provided
