About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and implement risk strategies and initiatives to profitably grow the consumer card business while controlling net loss provision
  • Leverage industry best practices and data assets for continual risk strategy and process improvement
  • Collaborate with the central Risk Management organization, Operations, and Marketing teams to develop, enhance, and implement approved credit strategies and processes
  • Monitor key credit-performance portfolio metrics and diagnose trends, problems, opportunities, and required corrections
  • Run ad hoc analytics and conduct independent risk assessments across processes to identify emerging risks and performance issues
  • Monitor and understand regulatory and industry developments and proactively identify threats and opportunities
  • Generate and optimize programming code, primarily using SQL, to extract information from large databases
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and visualizations and generate insights relevant to Credit Risk Team strategies across Customer Management, Consumer, Small Business, and Corporate portfolios

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Actuarial Science, Economics, Data Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, Computer Engineering or similar quantitative field of study
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with experience to lead and perform data analytics
  • Track record of driving results with strong thought leadership and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced SQL proficiency required
  • Python experience preferred
  • Advanced English and Spanish communication skills
  • Ability to present analytical findings and recommendations to managers, directors, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Flexibility and ability to build strong relationships, operate effectively within large cross-functional teams, and influence business partners to drive changes
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-changing environment with strong attention to detail
  • Deep understanding/experience of risk management principles with customer management is desirable
