About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with product teams to understand business data requirements
- Identify data needs and data sources to create data architecture
- Document data requirements and data stories
- Maintain data models for seamless integration into existing data architectures
- Create and maintain information about stored data
- Translate database requirements into physical database design
- Build and enhance database design and infrastructure supporting the business portfolio
- Perform database design reviews
- Support database testing
- Provide production environment support for database systems and processes
- Design database features for ongoing sprints
- Monitor database requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience with database administration
- 1 year of experience developing scripts for automating routine tasks
- 1 year of experience designing algorithms and data flowcharts
- 1 year of experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- 1 year of experience using data modeling and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools, including Eclipse and IntelliJ
- 1 year of experience using issue management tools, including Jira and Backlog
- 1 year of experience using source control management tools, including GIT
- 1 year of experience with API REST, Apache Airflow, Apache Flink, Big Data, data structures, Elasticsearch, ETL, Hive, Jenkins, JSON, Kafka, Kibana, Linux, MemSQL, NoSQL databases, performance tuning, Python, RDBMS, Spark, shell scripting, and Vert.x-based microservices development
