About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advance the design and documentation of data architectures, ensuring integration with existing systems and alignment with business requirements
Develop, optimize, and support complex data pipelines and database designs for performance, scalability, and security
Collaborate with delivery architects, engineers, and business teams to design data-tier solutions and support Agile development
Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, guidelines, and policies
Document processing requirements to maintain optimal data operations
Identify and adopt innovative technologies to enhance data infrastructure
Maintain detailed information about stored data and follow data placement procedures
Contribute to best practices and consistent development practices
Execute Big Data management strategies through partitioning and indexing solutions
Collaborate with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of Big Data / NoSQL design and development with a variety of data stores
Knowledge of database management system products and ecosystems
Knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, and relational and non-relational databases
Data engineering and development experience or related experience
Experience with SQL and Python or another programming language such as Java
Experience designing and developing across database management systems, including HBase, Hive, GCP tools, BigQuery, Spanner, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and others
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Couchbase, Cassandra, and Redis
Experience with data modeling tools such as ErStudio and ErWin
Experience with performance tuning in Big Data
Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and application development
Experience developing and supporting OLTP and/or OLAP systems
Experience with software delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Agile XP, Test-Driven Development, and Waterfall
Experience designing infrastructure for performance, including storage integration
