About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage Finance Data Governance in compliance with the Enterprise Data Governance Policy, including accountability models and processes for data asset management, metadata management, data quality, and issue resolution
  • Produce data quality scorecards, dashboards, analytical reports, and attestation packages for in-scope processes
  • Identify critical data elements (CDEs) and data sources, translating governance and regulatory requirements into actionable data requirements
  • Perform root-cause analysis of data quality issues and assist with remediation of audit and regulatory feedback
  • Support strategic improvements to data assessment processes and enhance data analytical and data quality tools
  • Support regulatory reporting needs through existing platforms while working with upstream data providers, downstream business partners, and technology teams
  • Partner with Finance Technology Transformation, Enterprise Data Governance, Controllership, Risk, and other teams to drive data governance and data quality within Finance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of Finance experience; Controllership preferred
  • Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Proficiency in SQL, AI, and Excel for large-scale data analysis
  • Self-motivated with strong project and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Data governance and data quality experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
