About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end underwriting strategies for new accounts in Mexico to profitably grow consumer and commercial businesses while controlling net loss provision
  • Collaborate with and influence business partners to enhance the value proposition, improve customer experience, and strengthen adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with central Risk Management, Operations, and Marketing teams to develop, improve, and implement credit strategies and processes
  • Manage relationships and data strategy with local credit bureaus and other information providers, including monitoring data quality
  • Drive credit risk strategies and evaluate partnerships with data providers, fintechs, and other service providers
  • Monitor key indicators of credit performance and identify emerging trends, improvement opportunities, corrective actions, and emerging risks
  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and independent risk assessments
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments and identify potential threats and opportunities
  • Lead and inspire managers and analysts, including hiring, training, development, and performance assessment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in credit risk management
  • In-depth understanding of consumer and commercial businesses, the credit lifecycle, underwriting strategies, and credit metrics and processes
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills and a track record of independently driving strategies and making sound decisions
  • Strong analytical skills and an innovative approach to solving practical and theoretical problems
  • Intellectual curiosity and adaptability in a multifaceted environment
  • Ability to reinvent processes and infrastructure
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, operate effectively in large cross-functional teams, and influence colleagues to drive change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize key points and influence decision-making
  • Ability to excel in dynamic, high-pressure environments, navigate ambiguity, and prioritize based on business impact
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners
