About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the Head of Talent Acquisition to define and execute the multi-year Talent Acquisition transformation strategy.
  • Shape and implement the future Talent Acquisition operating model, including capabilities, ways of working, processes, and technology.
  • Simplify, standardize, and modernize the recruiting lifecycle through an actionable transformation roadmap.
  • Establish governance and lead delivery of the strategic portfolio, managing ownership, milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Use performance data, operational insights, and external trends to refine priorities and measure impact.
  • Identify strategic candidate sourcing opportunities and talent marketplace partnerships.
  • Provide recommendations and updates to the Head of Talent Acquisition and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead process optimization and scale automation, digital, and AI-enabled capabilities across the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and scale AI capabilities to improve recruiter productivity, candidate experience, hiring manager effectiveness, and decision quality.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Product and Technology teams to implement future-of-hiring capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, risk, privacy, and responsible AI standards.
  • Build partnerships across Talent Acquisition, Product, Colleague Services, GCO, CA&C, and other enterprise stakeholders.
  • Influence senior leaders, drive adoption, and lead targeted change management through communication and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience developing and delivering large-scale business, technology, or Talent Acquisition transformation strategies from concept through implementation and measurable value realization within complex, global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Talent Acquisition operations, end-to-end recruiting processes, recruiting technologies, and workflow automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional change, influence executive stakeholders, build alignment without direct authority, and deliver measurable outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional program management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership capabilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining success metrics, tracking benefits, and leveraging data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Experience leading or implementing AI-enabled solutions within Talent Acquisition, HR, or broader business operations (preferred).
  • Experience implementing responsible AI practices, including governance, ethical considerations, and risk management (preferred).
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives leveraging emerging technologies, intelligent automation, or AI (preferred).
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship.
