About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor and assess new regulatory requirements in Mexico, including changes to regulatory reporting, submissions, and financial presentation.
Support the Manager Governance in evaluating and incorporating recommendations from Internal Audit, external auditors, and regulators into internal controls.
Prepare financial statement disclosures under Local GAAP.
Perform or oversee testing and monitoring of spreadsheet controls within the market.
Manage the quarterly certification process and annual effectiveness testing of high-risk spreadsheet controls.
Strengthen Finance Governance in Mexico Controllership by ensuring local regulatory compliance, supporting audits, and maintaining a robust internal control environment.
Drive governance initiatives that mitigate risk, enhance operational efficiency, and align with local and global policies.
Collaborate with Finance, Lines of Business, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor degree on Public accountant.
Accounting, finance designation preferred (CA / CPA / CGA).
Bank Accounting knowledge is a plus.
Knowledge of USGAAP and local GAAPs, IFRS accounting standard is a plus.
At least 2-3 years audit experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of and/or practical experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance productivity, automate routine tasks, improve data analysis, and support decision-making.
Familiarity with generative AI solutions and the ability to responsibly leverage AI technologies within a financial control and governance environment is considered a strong advantage.
Strong written and verbal english & spanish communication skills.
