Work closely with Operations and Engineering Teams to identify feature sets affecting private and public cloud platforms
Help ensure platform availability and reduce toil
Perform hands-on architecture, design, and development of monitoring systems
Provide continuous support for infrastructure and application availability
Understand current incidents and provide solutions to detect, recover from, and prevent recurrence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
1+ years of industry experience with 1+ years of software development experience in Python
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required
American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
Understanding of Linux functionalities/features and good experience with shell scripting
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP and Azure is beneficial
Good understanding of container and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
Experience with NoSQL databases such as Couchbase preferred
Ability to work with IaaS, PaaS, cloud technologies, and tools for Continuous Delivery (CD)
Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions
Good written and verbal communication skills
