About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate policy and product information using available tools
  • Maintain state compliance for reporting, Medicare, insurance claims, and audit functions related to claims adjudication
  • Make claims decisions for AAC Embedded NAC and fee-based products
  • Interact directly by phone with customers and vendors to ensure timely decisions and claim progression
  • Research claims for proper disposition through phone or written correspondence with customers, businesses, and others
  • Adjudicate claims according to state and local laws, compliance requirements, and internal processes
  • Develop and maintain department training for claims colleagues in partnership with leaders and other business areas
  • Deliver training materials to individuals and groups on claims processes, investigation, adjudication, and decision-making
  • Maintain and monitor training materials for the AAC Claims team
  • Provide leaders with insights on training needs and trainee learning and development trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Customer First Principles demonstrated through excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • High School Diploma or higher level education
  • Passion for exceptional service
  • Strong phone skills
  • Ability to adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid changes in workflow
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative with minimal supervision to drive results
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Superior accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in PC skills, including MS Word and Excel
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
  • A current Claims Adjuster License is a plus
  • If not currently licensed, ability to obtain the necessary license before training; upon hiring, candidate has three attempts to pass the Arizona Licensing exam
