About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with a Business Unit in the market, supporting change management, organizational initiatives, and talent and leadership development
- Provide support for talent strategy, succession planning, colleague engagement communications, and day-to-day colleague management, including managing the sick leave process and acting as prevention officer
- Design products, processes, and tools informed by colleague data and insights
- Co-create solutions with business leaders and CEG colleagues to meet business needs
- Deliver colleague communications and continuously improve administrative processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline and simplify ways of working to enhance colleague experience, operational efficiency, and service delivery
- Participate in cross-functional projects, supporting planning, coordination, implementation, and successful delivery of change initiatives
- Lead talent efforts to strengthen colleague capabilities, drive business performance, and develop leaders
- Engage in organizational effectiveness and change efforts with strong project management and detailed execution
- Coach leaders and provide developmental feedback
- Support a diverse workforce representative of customers and communities
- Establish proactive partnerships with CEG colleagues across markets and Centers of Excellence to align solutions with business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated professional HR experience, preferably in an HR generalist, HR advisory or HR Business Partner environment
- Ability to build effective relationships and provide consultancy and advice to senior business stakeholders
- Understanding of business strategy, plans, and the impact of internal and external factors
- Ability to work with large sets of data accurately from multiple sources to develop insights, make decisions, create solutions, and drive continuous improvement
- Ability to help organize and coordinate functional expertise and the business across various projects and timelines
- Experience supporting organizational changes, restructures, and business transformation initiatives through effective planning, coordination, and execution
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Global mentality and experience working in or supporting different countries and cultures
- Proficient in Dutch and English; an extra language is a plus
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the Netherlands; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
- Successful completion of a background verification check
