About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Contract Managers with day-to-day contracting queries arising from supplier negotiations, providing guidance on contracting approach and structure
  • Act as the primary contact for GCO and GSM Leadership regarding procurement contracting
  • Act as a key SS&BE contact for enterprise compliance projects impacting third parties and/or the procurement contracting process
  • Liaise with the Regulatory Change Management team and act as Project Manager for RCM entries affecting procurement contracting
  • Lead projects to enhance internal GSM systems and improve working practices, leveraging technology
  • Help manage the global suite of GSM procurement contracting templates, coordinating with GSM teams and GCO to maintain legal compliance
  • Make templates available through SS&BE’s Conga contract management system and manage the global contract inventory
  • Support monthly GSM Information Share meetings across US, EMEA and APAC
  • Share topical information, lead contract training initiatives, and facilitate guest speakers from TLM, GCO and other teams
  • Partner with Capabilities to leverage AI technologies, drive innovation and position SS&BE for future success

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience and proven track record of successfully navigating complex contract negotiations
  • Solid understanding of legal principles and priorities relating to contracting
  • Ability to offer practical, credible and compliant solutions to supplier pushbacks
  • Excellent written and verbal relationship management skills
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the organisation and across stakeholder groups including GCO, TLM, Compliance, Enterprise Third Party Risk Management and across geographic markets
  • Ability to prepare presentation materials and present complex topics in easy to understand formats
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-regional projects involving large volumes of contracts across different teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, understanding of contract and operational risk, and strong planning skills
  • Proven track record of delivering tangible results in complex, global and matrix work environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise work with challenging deadlines, and move projects forward with ambiguous data
  • Experience working with GCO, IAG, RCM teams and Enterprise Third Party Risk Management is desirable
  • Effective leadership skills and commitment to mentoring, coaching and development within the SSBE team
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; law, business management, or supply chain management desirable
  • CIPS qualification desirable
  • Proven ability to draft and develop project plans including key milestones, critical paths, roadblocks, risks, next steps and a risk-based approach
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work across a wide range of teams and build effective working relationships
  • Desire to learn and understand industry best practices and find creative solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid business environment
  • Understanding of TLM advantageous
