About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify risks throughout business processes and systems with business process owners
- Facilitate business units' Process Self Risk Assessments (PRSAs) and Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)
- Support further assessments, testing, and quality assurance programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
- Review and update assessment criteria to align with regulatory updates
- Identify high-risk areas for intervention and conduct independent quality assurance and vertical process testing
- Compile thematic risk reporting on risk levels, trends, causes, emerging trends, and root causes
- Review control categorization and map controls against risks and processes
- Support risk management practices within the business
- Review risk profiles and updated risk registers
- Share insights, better practices, and themes across the enterprise
- Develop and enhance the control environment, ensuring controls are appropriately designed, aligned with key risks, and effectively maintained
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function)
- Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
- Experience in at least one of the following: identifying operational risks throughout business processes and systems; facilitating risk assessments and testing programs; enhancing risk assessment methodologies; reviewing independent control monitoring; identifying areas of risk for intervention and conducting quality assurance and process testing; reviewing thematic risk reporting
- Experience in financial services industry is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field is preferred; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous
