Key responsibilities & impact

Manage efficient and effective accounting for critical operating expense and colleague expense areas
Ensure financial integrity
Ensure strong controls and compliance to meet and exceed audit, regulatory, and SOX requirements
Drive end-to-end process efficiencies, including MJE optimization, standardization, and automation
Establish a strong culture to drive business insights
Eliminate waste and duplication
Manage stakeholder engagement and build relationships across LE Controllers, Segment Controllers, LFO Finance, and business teams
Identify centralization opportunities and build COEs for processes within the team’s remit
Ensure continuous engagement in organization-wide initiatives affecting the relevant processes
Drive Gen AI adoption
Manage, develop, train, motivate, and communicate with a diverse accounting workforce
Partner to enhance governance and standardization around accounting processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Chartered Accountant or equivalent with 8+ Years of Accounting experience
Working knowledge of Oracle and understanding of Accounting and other relevant policies and protocols
Proven People leadership experience is a prerequisite
Must be a self-starter with ability to drive change and deliver results on multiple time sensitive projects
Strong understanding of business fundamentals and financial statements of AXP
Ability to synthesize large data to create business insights and drive value
Strong collaboration and outstanding ability to build and leverage relationships with key business partners
Exceptional problem solving, influencing and persuasion skills, process mindset and analytical skills, along with ability to link with the big picture while having attention to detail
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of BI tools like OBIE
Ability to think innovatively and pursue ideas with conviction
