About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support enterprise SEO and AEO initiatives across traditional and AI-driven search platforms
- Support and lead SEO and AEO strategy for international markets, owning one or several markets and relationships with local stakeholders
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve discoverability and representation of Amex content
- Support crawlability, indexation, and rendering improvements
- Assist with schema.org and JSON-LD structured data implementation and site performance optimization
- Optimize content for AI-generated answers, including structure, clarity, and intent alignment
- Identify gaps in how American Express content is surfaced or interpreted across AI platforms
- Track search performance and emerging AI metrics such as visibility, citations, and accuracy
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve search performance
- Partner with product, engineering, content, and agency teams to implement best practices
- Support documentation and education of SEO and AEO standards across teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of SEO experience (agency or in-house; enterprise/global experience a plus)
- Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Conductor, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
- Advanced technical SEO understanding and web architecture (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Exposure to or interest in using Generative AI to enhance SEO workflows
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the UK is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
