About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Global Litigation & Investigations Team and the Global Legal Order Processing Centre of Excellence
  • Support end-to-end processing of third-party legal orders for the India market
  • Open legal matters in the case management system and route them to the correct workstream
  • Assess the validity of legal requests in accordance with American Express procedures
  • Prepare correspondence to issuers of legal requests
  • Evaluate legal requests, research accounts, and identify responsive documents
  • Retrieve documents and prepare responses in accordance with applicable laws and American Express procedures
  • Comply with US and other applicable country laws and American Express procedures
  • Provide document support for India litigation requests and perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduates in law or related subjects
  • 0-2 years of experience in an operations team or in-house legal department
  • Articulate and fluent verbal and written English
  • Sense of urgency, ability to discern critical matters and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Ability to quickly train on, navigate, and extract information from a variety of databases and information platforms
  • Successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations
