About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support experienced team members with the rollout of American Express card acceptance at merchants and the management of GMS sales channels and teams.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including merchants, partners, and third parties.
Monitor market and industry trends, and analyze new technologies and their potential impact on the American Express business.
Conduct business, data, and requirements analyses, and prepare findings and recommendations for action.
Support the implementation of products and services with merchants and third parties, including coordinating and tracking project milestones.
Contribute to local and European projects focused on the technical rollout and further development of card acceptance.
Prepare project materials, status reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate and track project tasks, and identify and escalate potential project risks or obstacles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer and partner requirements on time.
Continuously develop expertise in payment solutions, American Express products, implementation processes, and market requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Initial experience in project management within the financial services sector, together with the ability to successfully deliver and manage projects.
Knowledge of American Express payment solutions and the relevant certification processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in interpersonal interactions.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to plan project outcomes and deliverables, prioritize daily tasks, create project documentation, track and report progress, and handle short-notice requests for solution support without compromising quality or deadlines.
Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations with clear messages, while maintaining the right balance between detail and strategic perspective.
Ability to conduct analyses and use the results to develop recommendations that improve business outcomes and commercial impact.
Ability to coordinate all relevant meetings and agendas, and communicate project status and progress to the team and management.
High level of commitment, initiative, and flexibility.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Structured and organized approach to work.
Strong affinity for technology and excellent computer skills.
Fluent German and English skills.
Authorization to work for American Express in Germany is required; no visa sponsorship available.
Successful completion of a background check is required.
Preferred: Interest in consulting-oriented activities, payment processes, data analysis, process optimization, or digital payment solutions, as well as initial experience working with external partners, customers, projects, or cross-functional teams.
