About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement comprehensive test cases and scripts for systems integration, regression, and performance testing
- Lead quality assurance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to refine quality assurance processes and tools
- Create test plans, determine testing resource needs, and schedule testing activities
- Participate in design discussions to identify and mitigate defects early
- Provide recommendations for user story backlog requirements with a focus on consumer impact
- Drive the development and execution of continuous integration/continuous deployment automation processes
- Track defect resolution and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of test methodologies, test data management tools (e.g., CA DEVTEST, WIREMOCK, Optim, Datafinder) and programming languages
- Software engineering and development experience or a related job, with a focus on quality engineering
- Experience writing test cases, running functional, automated, or performance tests, and managing and mitigating defects
- Experience in the Software Development Life Cycle, including testing, defect reporting, and metrics
- Experience with automation and testing in a continuous deployment/continuous integration environment
- Experience with quality scanning tools, baselining and measuring ongoing quality metrics, and displaying metrics via dashboards
- Experience with core tools used in planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining assigned applications
- Experience with API, accessibility, chaos, security, performance, user interface, and disaster recovery testing and relevant frameworks
- Test certifications such as QAI, ASQ, IIST, ISEB, or ISTQB are a plus
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
