About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Finance Data Governance in compliance with the Enterprise Data Governance Policy, ensuring appropriate accountability models and processes for data asset management, metadata management, data quality, and issue resolution.
Support all aspects of Data Governance for assigned Regulatory Reports, including data activation steps and compliance with data standards and privacy regulations.
Support strategic improvements to the data assessment process and enhance data analytical and data quality tools.
Lead root-cause analysis of data quality issues and support remediation of Audit and Regulatory feedback.
Support development, validation, and maintenance of business glossary, data integration, data lineage, and data management activities.
Partner with Finance Technology Transformation, Enterprise Data Governance, Controllership, Risk, business process owners, Technologies, and other teams.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree
Solid understanding and prior experience with Regulatory Reports, including FFIEC 031, FR Y-9C, FR Y-14 series, or FR 2052a preferred.
2-3 years of experience in Finance and Controllership strongly preferred.
Strong relationship skills and communication is essential as this analyst will partner with multiple groups e.g., Business process owners, Technologies, and Enterprise Data Governance.
Self-motivated and proactive, ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently.
Strong excel and other technical skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collect business requirements and use them to guide implementation of a technical solution.
Prior experience with implementation of data governance and data quality programs is preferred.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
