About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead critical workstreams in the strategic Authorizations Modernization Program (AMP)
  • Transform AXP's authorization business processes and platforms from legacy mainframe to modern distributed cloud-native design
  • Oversee journey delivery, testing, and migration
  • Support the Program Management Office through all phases of the software delivery life cycle for migration of journeys from CAS to AMP
  • Lead journey progress for Credit, Non-Risk, and Platform journeys
  • Drive program communications using dashboards and status reports
  • Partner with Product & Solution Management to document and track Capabilities & Features
  • Build relationships with project stakeholders across multiple lines of business
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in the Credit or Fraud Risk domain, having executed transformational or change management roles
  • Experience delivering large and complex projects in matrixed organizations and interacting with teams across all lines of defense
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to see the big picture while focusing on critical details
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to lead informed technical discussions with engineering teams within and outside the Risk organization
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
  • SAFE, Project Management Professional (PMI), or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred
  • Excellent relationship and influence management skills
  • Ability to communicate key risks to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be pursued
