About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify customer friction and unmet needs through research, journey insights, and feedback.
- Partner with Design and UX through the design thinking process to shape customer-first solutions from discovery through build.
- Support experimentation across product features, journey improvements, and customer experiences.
- Align test scope with the rapid experimentation team and scale winning learnings across journeys.
- Champion reusable components and shared frameworks with platform teams.
- Apply emerging tools, including GenAI, to accelerate discovery, prototyping, documentation, and delivery.
- Represent the product perspective in Agile ceremonies and prioritize and sequence the backlog with Engineering.
- Manage the end-to-end feature lifecycle from requirements through build, testing, launch, and post-implementation validation.
- Translate features and epics into user stories with acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional documentation.
- Maintain product documentation, backlog health, release readiness, and delivery traceability.
- Partner with Engineering and QA on test planning, defect triage, release readiness, and post-launch monitoring.
- Communicate status, dependencies, risks, and key decisions across teams.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Design, UX, Analytics, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of digital product management, product owner, or product operations experience, with a track record of feature delivery and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a curious, proactive mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep delivery on track in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build trust and alignment across teams.
- Digital fluency and a design-led, customer-first point of view, with the ability to translate customer problems into well-defined product requirements.
- Hands-on experience working within Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) and partnering closely with Engineering to deliver against technical dependencies and implementation tradeoffs.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship.
- Experience with customer-facing digital acquisition, ecommerce, shopping, or conversion optimization.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms such as Statsig and analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, ContentSquare, or Dynatrace.
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or similar delivery tools.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles, usability testing, and responsive web design.
- GenAI fluency, including comfort using AI tools to accelerate discovery, documentation, and delivery.
