Key responsibilities & impact

Support complex enterprise applications, platforms, and operational tooling across distributed environments
Design, develop, prototype, code, test, and implement scalable software solutions using Java, Python, SQL, and related frameworks
Participate in change management reviews, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of complex technical issues
Design and implement automation solutions to improve platform resiliency, operational efficiency, and security
Apply incident, problem, and change management practices for application production support
Contribute to runtime-system roadmaps for reliability, scalability, availability, recoverability, and performance
Establish and improve KPIs, SLOs, MTTR, and MTBF metrics
Diagnose and resolve production incidents, batch failures, application outages, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure issues across Mainframe and Distributed platforms
Apply SRE principles and operational excellence practices
Support disaster recovery, high availability, workload management, capacity planning, and business continuity initiatives
Implement and support cloud/distributed architectures, modernization initiatives, API enablement, and enterprise integration
Develop and support API, MQ, Connect:Direct, event-driven, batch, and real-time data integration solutions
Automate operations, deployments, monitoring, reporting, and remediation using Python, Bash, Ansible, Jenkins, and related technologies
Implement monitoring, observability, logging, and analytics with Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, or equivalent tools
Analyze operational trends and recommend platform and engineering improvements
Contribute to reliability, performance, security, operational maturity, and customer-experience improvements
Apply CI/CD, DevOps, enterprise security, compliance, audit, and access-management practices
Ensure solutions meet availability, scalability, performance, security, recoverability, and maintainability requirements
Collaborate with engineering, product, infrastructure, and operations teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience
Work experience in software engineering, app support, infrastructure operations, or runtime engineering
Working understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and containerization technologies
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools and incident management best practices
Solid programming and scripting skills, including Python
Knowledge of PowerShell and Python for automation tasks
Experience in technology operations work, including ITIL and SRE/Production Support
Willingness to provide weekend support when necessary
Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including DB2, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Must have 5+ years of distributed experience and knowledge
Experience supporting and optimizing enterprise platforms using Java, Python, SQL, Git, CoPilot, Jenkins, XLR, Jira, AI, ML, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, REST API, gRPC, and Grafana
Knowledge of cloud platforms, AWS, GCP, or general cloud fundamentals
