About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, interpret, and account for Global Network Services and Joint Venture processed revenue, including royalties and incentives, according to contractual terms, obligations, and US GAAP
- Raise monthly invoices for Third Party Benefits and incentive payments, followed by accounting
- Perform monthly accounting, including GNS/JV royalty accruals, deferrals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, aging-item clearance, and month/year-end closures
- Manage reconciliations in SLU/IRIS applications
- Perform data analytics for GNS royalties, Third Party Benefits, GNS incentives, and Joint Venture accounting processes
- Maintain close contact with customers, LFOs, segment controllers, market controllers, and other business partners
- Conduct monthly analysis and reporting to senior line leadership
- Support the design and execution of monitoring and reporting models for key measures of processed revenue accounting
- Collaborate with Control and Compliance, SOX, and Operational Risk teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable procedures and policies
- Coordinate and implement initiatives around operational transformation, data integrity, and customer priorities
- Support standardization and automation projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate with 2+ years of work experience
- Eye for detail, strong analytical skills and ability to comprehend complex contractual terms into financial implications for the business
- Ability to cross link / cross reference data points to facilitate comprehensive analysis
- Strong results orientation and flexibility to overcome obstacles, resolve process issues and interact with various stakeholders, including senior levels of the organizational hierarchy
- Strong communication and influencing skills, and ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities
- Strong MIS skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Excel
- Ability to develop innovative solutions using a data driven approach, multiple variables and insights
- Good understanding of Amex products, financial processes, systems and tools, especially Salesforce, MicroStrategy, Oracle General Ledger and IRIS
- Knowledge of GNS/JV business will be an added advantage
- Successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations
