About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new strategic partnership opportunities aligned with Resy’s business priorities and long-term growth strategy.
  • Own key components of the business development lifecycle, including market and partner research, opportunity assessment, business case development, partner outreach, deal structuring, negotiation support, and launch planning.
  • Build business cases and recommendations incorporating strategic rationale, customer and partner value, financial considerations, competitive dynamics, and implementation requirements.
  • Develop and manage relationships with prospective and existing partners and identify opportunities to deepen and expand relationships.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders from concept through execution.
  • Support commercial discussions and negotiations, including partnership economics, business terms, scope, success measures, and ongoing governance.
  • Monitor the dining, hospitality, and technology landscape and emerging companies, capabilities, and trends.
  • Establish goals, KPIs, and success measures for partnerships and evaluate performance and improvement areas.
  • Develop materials and recommendations for senior leadership articulating partnership opportunities, tradeoffs, business impact, and proposed paths forward.
  • Create repeatable frameworks for evaluating opportunities, prioritizing partnerships, and managing strategic relationships.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, strategy, or a related role, with demonstrated experience evaluating and advancing external partnership opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and strategic judgment, with the ability to assess opportunities across strategic fit, customer value, economics, feasibility, and risk.
  • Experience developing business cases, financial analyses, partnership proposals, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with external partners and influence stakeholders across organizations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations teams.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear recommendations and compelling narratives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams, prioritize competing opportunities, and drive initiatives forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: experience in business development or strategic partnerships within hospitality, restaurant technology, SaaS, marketplaces, consumer technology, fintech, or adjacent industries.
  • Preferred: experience supporting or negotiating commercial agreements and developing partnership structures and economics.
  • Preferred: experience working on technology-enabled partnerships involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred: familiarity with the restaurant and hospitality technology ecosystem and the needs of restaurant operators and diners.
  • Preferred: experience developing new partnership opportunities from initial concept through launch and ongoing growth.
  • Preferred: passion for dining, hospitality, and building partnerships that create differentiated experiences for restaurants and consumers.
