About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as product champion, evaluating and identifying products and features for customers
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle of Token services in an agile environment
  • Define product strategy and enhance features to meet partner needs
  • Drive technical implementation and go-to-market execution
  • Progress emerging token use cases and influence payments industry bodies on standards
  • Design products, features, and experiences for target customer personas using internal and external data and insights
  • Define business requirements and collaborate with delivery teams to refine product features
  • Partner with architects and engineers to identify technical solutions, assess tradeoffs, and deliver features and platform capabilities
  • Guide product enhancements through new product development processes
  • Define and track product metrics and KPIs and gather customer feedback to improve the product and refine the feature backlog
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, partner enablement, and servicing teams on go-to-market strategy and execution
  • Monitor external trends and marketplace dynamics affecting payments and banking
  • Represent network interests in external industry forums

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years in product management or product development
  • Experience identifying customer needs, driving seamless delivery and go-to-market enablement, and managing product economics
  • Strategic and innovative mindset with ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into opportunities
  • Ability to drive innovative solutions and build consensus for key initiatives
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Comfort with data and analytics and experience using data to drive decision-making and product improvement
  • Ability to identify customer personas and develop features addressing distinct customer needs
  • Consultant mentality with ability to distill ideas, connect information across business topics, organize information, and tell a story
  • Strong external and internal partnership skills
  • Effective verbal and written executive-level communication
  • Ability to stay connected to remote partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion for the payments space and ability to describe current trends and their relevance to American Express
  • High energy and optimistic attitude
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S.; visa sponsorship will not be pursued
  • Preferred: 2+ years' experience managing payments products
