About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and advance paid media creative strategy for Prospect and Customer Paid Media programs
  • Own the vision and priorities for differentiated, demand-driving creative
  • Lead end-to-end creative development and production across display, social, video, and audio
  • Partner with agencies from strategy and briefing through execution and approvals
  • Use customer, channel, and creative performance insights to optimize creative and shape test-and-learn priorities
  • Identify and test emerging formats, channels, capabilities, and creative approaches
  • Partner with Marketing channel owners, Product, and Go To Market teams to deliver cohesive acquisition experiences
  • Build relationships across Marketing, agency partners, and marketing operations stakeholder teams
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of three direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, creative strategy, acquisition marketing, paid media, or a related discipline
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking, translating business and customer objectives into compelling marketing strategies and successful digital executions
  • Strong understanding of digital media and creative ecosystems, including emerging trends, formats, platforms, capabilities, and measurement approaches
  • Strong analytical and performance orientation, translating customer, channel, and creative insights into clear strategies and actions
  • Proven ability to define success, prioritize opportunities, challenge the status quo, and drive innovative ideas through execution
  • Strong leadership and relationship-management skills in a matrixed organization, including consensus-building and stakeholder influence
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop talent and navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be pursued
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred
