Key responsibilities & impact

Drive end-to-end Forward Deployment Engineering delivery execution across the product development lifecycle
Partner with product owners, architects, engineering teams, and stakeholders to align technical strategy, architecture, dependencies, and delivery commitments
Translate complex business needs into actionable, scalable, technically sound, and operationally viable technology strategies
Lead and orchestrate multiple complex, cross-functional technology programs aligned with enterprise priorities, business objectives, milestones, and measurable outcomes
Evaluate solution alternatives, identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and influence decisions across architecture, engineering, product, and delivery
Manage program risks, dependencies, resources, and execution challenges while ensuring governance, regulatory, and technology standards compliance
Champion AI-enabled workflows, agentic program management capabilities, and intelligent automation
Establish AI-assisted practices for reporting, resource planning, risk management, delivery analytics, and stakeholder communications
Evolve program management operating models using AI capabilities, automation, and data-driven insights
Drive modern program management methodologies, engineering best practices, Agile delivery principles, Test-Driven Development, and continuous improvement
Use delivery metrics, program analytics, and industry trends to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization
Mentor program management colleagues and provide thought leadership
Serve as a motivated, high-performing change agent
Provide regular updates to leadership and coordinate delivery across FDE, AI Product and Strategy, AI Foundational Services, Information Security, and Cloud Engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of technical program management experience
Deep understanding of software and infrastructure design principles with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility
Demonstrated leadership and management experience working with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams on complex projects
Experience managing program reporting
Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills; ability to communicate across third parties and technical and business teams
Experience clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity or under-defined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing teams
Ability to enable business capabilities through innovation
Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies
Experience using Airtable or Jira agile delivery management platforms is a plus
Experience overseeing Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams delivering technology solutions to customer expectations for timeliness and quality
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent work experience, is preferred
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
