Mentor junior Software Engineers and cross-functional colleagues, fostering excellence and innovation
Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and foster professional growth
Direct the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems
Oversee tasks, platforms, and technologies to expand new and existing software for changing requirements
Write automated unit tests to ensure correctness and stability
Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
Monitor software performance and implement improvements to optimize functionality
Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless software integration and deployment
Co-create with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
10+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent level based on role requirements) with a strong focus on Java-based application development
Proven experience building and maintaining distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications
Experience in application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
Experience working in cloud environments and modern software delivery practices is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver scalable solutions
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality practices, and DevOps principles
Experience with unit, integration, functional, and performance testing
Knowledge of distributed multi-tiered systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases
Knowledge of the core tools used in planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining assigned applications
Experience leading small teams, mentoring engineers, or driving technical initiatives
Experience conducting architecture reviews and influencing technical direction
Basic exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of event streaming platforms such as Kafka is a plus
