Key responsibilities & impact

Build core features and functions of card transaction systems on a distributed platform deployed in hybrid cloud
Serve as a core member of an agile team using modern development practices
Write code and unit tests
Work with API specifications and automation
Use Java technologies including Vert.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Boot, and RESTful microservices
Collaborate with peer technology and development teams across different locations
Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies
Work with stakeholders to understand and analyze requirements
Foster innovation and experimentation within an outcome-oriented culture

Requirements

What you’ll need

Computer Science, or equivalent degree or industry experience
5 years of software development experience in a professional environment
Strong OOPs concepts, concurrency, and exception handling
Data structures and algorithms
Strong operating systems fundamentals
Advanced Java concepts
Strong development experience using Java and Go
Understanding of building highly performant systems with Java and Go
Hands-on experience building distributed microservice systems
Experience with service mesh products/frameworks such as Envoy, Linkerd, Istio, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers
Experience with distributed-system management, tracing, and monitoring tools such as Zipkin, Jaeger, ELK Stack, and Prometheus
Experience designing and building cloud-native applications
Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift experience are a plus
Experience using NoSQL databases and distributed messaging systems such as Redis, Kafka, Couchbase, and Cassandra in low-latency, high-transaction-volume systems
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub
Experience working in DevOps teams and Scrum
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to learn new technology and business domains, question the status quo, and think outside the box
