About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive Human Resources support for Corporate, Innovation Center, and designated functional North American employee populations
  • Perform Oracle HCM transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, organizational changes, position updates, terminations, and absence updates
  • Maintain employee records and HR data accuracy across Oracle HCM and related systems
  • Troubleshoot Oracle HCM issues and guide managers and employees on HRIS processes
  • Conduct data integrity audits and identify corrective actions for payroll, benefits, headcount, and reporting data
  • Assist with system testing, enhancements, process documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as primary contact for employee and manager timekeeping questions
  • Support timecard reviews, corrections, approvals, exception management, and payroll discrepancy resolution
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, screening, interviews, offers, and hiring activities
  • Manage preboarding and onboarding through completion of the introductory period
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verification, onboarding documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries about HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Partner with managers on employee integration and engagement
  • Support employee relations activities as assigned
  • Lead local employee engagement initiatives promoting Carmeuse values and teamwork
  • Plan and facilitate recognition, community involvement, wellness, and charitable events
  • Support compliance training, reporting, recordkeeping, audits, and audit requests
  • Coordinate with external vendors supporting unemployment claims and other HR programs
  • Maintain employment documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in HR Management or related field
  • At least 5-7 years human resource generalist experience
  • Preferred experience working in a corporate setting and in the manufacturing industry
  • Preferred experience with union and non-union employee populations
  • Broad experience ranging from employee relations, recruiting, and compliance
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources practices, employment laws, and governance, including EEO, OFCCP, FMLA, DOL, and HIPAA
  • Excellent analytical, cognitive, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact efficiently with people at different organizational levels
  • Strong presentation and speaking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle HRIS and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with data entry, running queries, and creating reports using HRIS/database software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Willingness to try new approaches, adapt to change, and learn new things
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information
