About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist physician in the care and teaching of patients
- Assess patients’ physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies
- Write prescriptions and order diagnostic, therapeutic, follow-up, and post-discharge care measures according to written protocols
- Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials
- Interpret and evaluate study and test findings
- Relay patient-care information to the collaborating physician
- Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed
- Dictate follow-up letters and patient clinical documentation
- Assist with family dynamics and coping mechanisms during patient care
- Conduct or participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds
- Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds
- Triage patients according to urgency
- Document and report care accurately and promptly
- Assist staff during crises or emergencies
- Market and promote cancer treatment in public settings
- Determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure completion of assignments
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information under HIPAA
- Assist in training new employees
- Work at any company location as directed by the collaborating physician
- Maintain work areas, records, and equipment
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program
- Master’s degree required
- APRN or PA license in appropriate state
- Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply
- Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P)
- Current BLS
- Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology
- Good command of the English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Travel less than 25%
