About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide safe, accurate, and efficient patient care
  • Assess patients and review laboratory results and vital signs
  • Verify medication doses and safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents
  • Follow Oncology Nursing Society standards and guidelines and role-specific Job Breakdown Instructions
  • Provide triage care and prioritize telephone calls and messages
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
  • Monitor patients continuously and provide support
  • Document treatment accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Capture appropriate medication and activity charges
  • Maintain accurate patient identification and confidentiality
  • Assist with medical supply inventory, restocking, and purchasing recommendations
  • Complete required safety and nursing training and attend mandatory staff meetings
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Work at any Company location as needed and work overtime with sufficient notice
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, IT policies, and the Disaster Plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Nursing Degree
  • Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
  • Ability to assess patient needs and condition
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and emotionally charged matters
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with EMR
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work remotely effectively as required
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM availability
